A HERODIAN GLASS BOTTLE

Herodian Period; c. 37 BC- AD 70
Composed of pale green glass with a globular, ribbed body, a cylindrical neck and an elongated funnel rim. Originally mold-blown to create the ribs of the body of the vessel, it was then further worked to create the neck and rim as well as to soften the ribbing on the body.
In excellent and original condition with iridescence present. Found in Jerusalem.
