A CANAANITE CYLINDRICAL JUGLET FROM THE HOLY LAND

Late Bronze Age I, c. 1550-1400 BC
A continuation of the cylindrical juglets of the Middle Bronze Age, this example is composed of a well proportioned cylindrical body with a pronounced shoulder on a flat base. The concave neck terminates in a flaring rim and a bifurcated handle is attached from rim to shoulder. A pellet has been applied at the top of the handle below the rim and the vessel has been finished with a burnished black slip.
In excellent and original condition. Found in the Holy Land.
