A PERSIAN PERIOD TERRACOTTA OIL LAMP FROM THE HOLY LAND

Persian Period; 586-332 BCE

A Wheel made lamp with a shallow bowl and a pinched wick hole on a rounded base, the rim is wide and everted. Oil lamps from this period are relatively uncommon, with one in such fine condition being even less so.

In very fine condition. Slight chip on rim.

5 7/8 x 5 15/16 x 2 1/8 inches (14.9 x 15.08 x 5.39 cm)
