AN UMAYYAD TERRACOTTA OIL LAMP WITH ANIMAL MOTIF

This pear shaped lamp sits on what was formerly a ring base, with a conical handle. A rim is present around the fill hole and wick hole with a channel running to the nozzle. The channel interior is decorated with four dots and the shoulders of the lamp are decorated with an animal motif.
Damage to base of lamp, otherwise in excellent condition.
