Syro-Palestine, c. 6th-7th Century CE

This mold-blown juglet was produced in Syria-Palestine during the Byzantine period with a strictly Christian audience in mind. It is produced of pale green glass with a handle of blue glass applied from shoulder to rim The sides of the vessel are decorated with alternating palm branch and checkered motifs. The neck is long and slender and terminates an everted rim.

Found in Jerusalem.

In excellent condition with natural iridescence present.
