A HERODIAN TERRACOTTA SPOUT PITCHER

Herodian Period; c. 37 B.C. -70 A.D.

A pouring vessel with a circular body, flared neck, small pouring spout and thin handle attached to the rim and shoulder of the vessel. Wheel made with the spout applied by hand. Made of reddish clay with natural patina present. Found in Bethlehem. In very good and original condition.

7.5 inches (19.1 cms) high; 4.9 inchs (12.9 cms) maximum diameter; 1.8 inches (4.5 cms) base diameter.
