Elongated Byzantine clay oil lamp with red slip , around the filling hole theirs a flat and relatively wide band , surrounded by raised moulding which reaches the wick hole ,extremely steep shoulders and thick handle. This lamp is typical of the group which was produced in Antioch , The Antioch lamps date from the fifth to sixth century AD.
Buff clay and partly faded red slip
Condition: Excellent Condition, Intact, not repaired and not restored.
