This collection contains all three deferent types of Pilate Coins Roman Prefect under Tiberius, 26 - 36 A.D. LIS = Year 29 A.D, LIZ = Year 30 A.D and LIH = Year 31 A.D

First Type :

Date: Mint 29 A.D

Obverse: Three bound ears of Barley Reverse: Simpulum

Second Type :

Date: Mint 30 A.D

Obverse: Lituus

Reverse: LIZ year 17 = 30 A.D in wreath

Third Type :

Date: 31 AD

Obverse: Lituus

Reverse: LIH (year 18 = 31AD) in wreath.

Condition : Good to very good condition , partly cleaned coins with natural earty patina

Pontius Pilate Latin: Pontius Pilatus, was the Prefect of the Roman Judaea province from the year 26 until 36. He is typically known as the sixth Procurator of Judea, but some sources cite him as the fifth.In modern times he is best known as the man who is said to have presided over the trial of Jesus and ordered his crucifixion.
