To either side of the stylized palm tree are two devices which Loffreda considers symbols representing flights of steps descending into and ascending out of a baptismal pool. ÖÙÓ (= "Light", with a lunate sigma) ×Õ (abbreviation of ×ÑÉÓÔÏÕ, = "of Christ") ÖÅÍ (abbreviation and dialect-influenced spelling of ÖÁÉÍÅÉ, = "enlightens") ÐÁÁÓÉÍ (spelling variation of ÐÁÓÉÍ, with an extra alpha and lunate sigma fused with iota, = "to all"). Found in Jerusalem. In very good condition.
